Poem: A Fecund Solitude

We are conditioned
from kindergarten...
to believe in
the comfort and wisdom
of the herd...
but so much of the time
we find ourselves alone...
Perhaps...it may be a good idea...
to teach us early on...
about the riches
of a fecund solitude...
introducing us to the path
we each must walk...
beyond the territory...
of even the most helpful
of herds........................
